The Arc Keyboard now available in white

Our Arc Keyboard just got even more stylish with a new finish – white and lime green – available exclusively at Amazon.com. Now you can show off your personal style with this special edition Arc Keyboard that has a sleek curved profile, clean lines and a lightweight portable design that looks great no matter where you use your computer.
The black Arc Keyboard launched earlier this year and introduced a cool design that matches today’s trends and looks good wherever you use it – whether that’s in the kitchen, on your couch, or at a desk. It’s inspired by the popular Arc Mouse so it’s really mobile and compact, and also uses 2.4 GHz wireless technology and a stowable Nano transceiver so it’s easy to take with you when you’re on the go.
The new keyboard is white on top and bright lime green on the bottom, which also shows through the keys. It will ship in June, but you can pre-order yours today if you want to be one of the first to get your hands on this swanky gear. We’ve got a couple of additional pics of this Arc Keyboard after the break.

Are these available with bluetooth and Apple keycaps, i.e. with ctrl alt & cmd legend?

Awesome

I wonder if this thing goes to sleep every few minutes and takes 2 seconds to wake up (leading to sometimes humorous, sometimes disastrous consequences) like the Microsoft Mobile 6000 keyboard that I purchased last year (and is now collecting dust)?

Hi Andy, thanks for the question. The Arc Keyboard is not available with Bluetooth or Apple keycaps but it is Mac compatible. If you’d like to look at a great Bluetooth keyboard then check out the Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 6000 which has a similar thin profile to the Arc Keyboard.

Since the Arc Keyboard uses a direct 2.4 GHz link to a small receiver that plugs into a USB port, from the computer’s point of view it behaves very similar to a wired USB keyboard.
Therefore you shouldn’t see the delay problem with the Arc Keyboard.
The problems with Bluetooth keyboards in general is that computer may elect to unload the Bluetooth stack when the keyboard is inactive. This creates a delay in reconnecting the Bluetooth keyboard after a period of inacvtivity.

Does the Nano Transceiver on the Microsoft ARC Keyboard connect to multiple devices ? Im thinking about getting the ARC mouse which also comes with a separate nano transceiver.

Hi Manish. You’ll need to use a USB port for each device, as most of our newer products (including the Arc Keyboard and Arc Mouse) use a 2.4GHz transceiver that is paired to a specific keyboard or mouse. We do this to ensure it’s an easy experience to connect the devices.

Would Microsoft consider making the US keymap versions available in other countries, particularly the UK. The UK layout is very poor with the vertical Return Key, and # where the other half of the Return key should be. Unfortunately, this has now become the ‘traditional’ layout but often spoils an otherwise great keyboard.
I’d also vote for a Bluetooth version that could pair with multiple hosts if that were an option.

The power indicator light does not remain lit.
How am I to know when the keyboard is on or off?
I see no indication when caps lock is activated.
Is there something wrong with my keyboard that these functions are missing?
